Where has the time gone!

What a wonderful summer it’s been! Sorry I haven’t been able to blog more but it has been extremely busy. My workshop space at The Lost Gardens of Heligan has gone really well & I’ve LOVED being there, you can imagine how delighted I was when at the end of my expected time there they invited me to stay for a while longer & to move to a rather wonderful space in the actual Heligan shop, I had my first day on Friday & it was so exciting being in there, I haven’t got space in there for teaching workshops but they will start again in November in The Stewards House in the actual garden which was really good fun last year.

I’ve tried to add to it in other ways as well, the Cornish long wool from the estate has now been taken to a local mill to be turned into garden twine & we have designed & printed locally the most wonderful enormous tea towels.

I’ve added lots of pictures at the bottom of this post but I just wanted to let you know what I will be doing for this years wool week…this is going to be the year of repair rather than replace & as wool week is just as the weather is getting a bit cooler in the UK & many of us will be getting out our woollens & wool suits for the first time in months & many of those treasures will need a little repair & refreshment so I am going to invite you to bring your wool garments to me.. You can either bring them into The Lost Gardens of Heligan & I will add to them in my own unique way while you have a spot of lunch or coffee or you can post them to me as an open surgery (please add a stamped addressed envelope with the correct postage for the return journey). As much as I would like to do this for nothing- it is my most passionate passion & why I started doing what I do in the very beginning but I need to feed the children so prices will start at £10 for a small repair (moth/ butterfly added to it etc) & go up in order of the same value for more details. You know what I do so I won’t blitz you with pictures.

I hope some of you will take me up on this & we can reuse worthy wool wonders!

I look forward to seeing you soon,

best wishes,
