I am mixed media artist from Cornwall, I work with bits of lovely wool & felt, vintage fabric, sticky glue, lino printing, drawing.
I really enjoy working with wool and felt as a sustainable material & as a skill to teach. I also like to print, I love the traditional feel to the process and the result ( like felting it takes no electrical power or machines- apart from that in my arm). Free embroidery, I like but because it is a way of working without consuming more materials because I use those which are already around & have been for a long time, I also re-use preloved & vintage fabrics which I have inherited. I also make & teach rug-making using these materials.
The singular theme to my work is the sustainability of the materials. And the teaching of the use sustainable materials.
I studied Illustration and Falmouth College of Art.
I have been self-employed as a Textile Designer and Illustrator since 2004. I teach private workshops.
I now live with my family back in Cornwall and have a lovely time being by the sea, making things and growing our own vegetables.
